We'll all be meeting at the Harbor Town Tiki Bar in N. Ft. Myers. Plan to be there about 3:00 on the day of the trip if you arrive latter that's ok we'll be at the dock. Once everyone is on board, cast off and head down the Caloosahatchee River about 2 hours to our first anchorage for the night in Popcorn Bay. Next morning it's anchor's up and head out to Picnic Island. Nice beach and you can explore the island. For those that wish to go to Sanibel Island for shelling, An ocean Kayak will be on board for your use. It's great for exploring / fishing around some of the smaller out islands and the mangroves in the area. Depending on the mood of the crew and weather conditions. Spending the night at either Givney Key or finding a nice anchorage in Matanzas Pass both with advantages'. Givney Key is secluded and a quit anchorage. Being well out of the channel, this would provide privacy for sunbathing and swimming. Matanzas Pass is the entrance to Ft. Myers beach with lots of boat traffic but easy to get into town. Restaurants, bars and shops abound ! Sunday we'll be back at the dock about 3 or 4 in the afternoon. |
